Antonio Lostrangio

Stockholm, N.J.-Antonio Lostrangio, 94 years old, died peacefully at home on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019. Born to Nicola and Margherita Lostrangio in Grassano, Matera, Italy, he came to the United States through Canada settling in West Orange, NJ, then retired to Onancock, Virginia, before moving to the Stockholm section of Hardyston Twp., N.J.

Antonio served with the Italian military during World War II and then worked as a mason for the West Orange Board of Education for many years before retiring in 1990. Antonio was a former member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Peter the Apostle RC Church in Onley, VA and was a member of the The Golden Gang with the Pocomoke Bowling League in Maryland. He took great joy in bowling, gardening and fishing.

Antonio is predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Marie “Phyllis” Lostrangio (nee Celiberti) (2016), a daughter, Margherite Van Hine 2018), two brothers, Giuseppe and Dominick and a sister, Anna and is the devoted father of Maria Ross and her husband, David of Stockholm, NJ. He is the loving grandfather of Charlie, Nicole, Alexandria, Rachel and Kira; cherished great grandfather of Marlene. and dear brother of Femia Dinnino of Downsview, Ontario, Canada. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
