Peters Valley School of Craft will hold its High School Student Exhibition online only at petersvalley.org from April 11 through May 9.

The exhibition will include work by students in grades 9 through 12 from Delaware Valley High School, High Point Regional High School, Kittatinny Regional High School, Sparta High School, Wallkill Valley Regional High School, Montville High School, Randolph High School, and Blair Academy. The focus on showcasing the types of media and its national online audience makes the Peters Valley’s exhibition unique among the many shows these schools participate in.

The exhibition includes two- and three-dimensional artworks, including ceramics, drawing, painting, jewelry, sculpture, photography, and other mixed media.

Peters Valley will award one full-tuition Huber-Weyer Scholarship to the Best in Show and certificates for second place and third place.

A virtual opening reception to be held on Zoom at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, will feature a slideshow of all the included pieces and an announcement of the award winner. A recording will be added afterward to the event pages.

This year marks the 11th annual show. As an educational center, Peters Valley’s mission is to cultivate the next generation of fine craft artists and supporters. This exhibition is intended to encourage and inspire these budding young artists and provide them with a professional experience. This year Peters Valley has awarded additional scholarships to high school students at the virtual Teens Arts Festival and Wallkill Valley Invitational Art Show.

The Sally D. Francisco Gallery is located on the second floor of the Gallery, Peters Valley School of Craft, 19 Kuhn Road, Layton, N.J. Hours are Thursday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Peters Valley also offers an outreach program, Craftsmen at Work, that brings multiple professional artists to a school for a full day of demonstrations. Begun in 1987, more than 40,000 students from all over New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania have participated in this program. To learn more call 973-948-5200.
