Z Troupe collects variety of honors at dance competitions

McAfee The Ziegler Dance Centre’s Z Troupe of McAfee brought home multiple honors in the Bravo Dance and Talent Competition and On Stage America Dance Competition, both held recently. While participating at the Bravo event, the troupe was honored with numerous overall awards. In the Petite Division, character large group “Grazing In The Grass” received fourth overall and hip hop large group “Leave It Up To Me” got third overall. The junior division musical theatre large group “We Go Together” won fourth overall. In the teen division musical theatre soloist Leia Campbell’s “Velma Takes the Stand” was given fourth overall. The senior division’s musical theatre small group “We Both Reached For The Gun” received third overall and lyrical duet “Come What May,” performed by Matt Tiberi and Courtney Chlominski, was honored with second overall. The judges also presented special awards to many performers: “Simplicity Award” to Amanda Peslak; “Arches for Days Award” to Amanda Losco; “Working the Audience Award” to Rich Baxter; “Dynamics Award” to Lauren Dittmeier; “Fun and Funny Award” to Alyssa Morrissey; “Most Committed Award” to Leia Campbell; “Fantastic Personality Award” to Danielle Marushan; “Song Interpitation Award” to Elisabeth Montanaro; “Great Chemistry Award” to Matt Tiberi and Courtney Chlominski; and “Great Group of Guys Award” to Ryan VanVliet, Joey Perez, Brian Losco, Jared Crispino and Tristan Krause. The troupe scored high at On Stage America, also. Three senior division girls lead the way, placing for the Miss On Stage title. Amanda Peslak received third runner up, Kaitlin Rago second runner up and Courtney Chlominski first runner up. Overall division awards were also given to several Z Troupe groups. Petite hip hop large group “Leave It Up To Me” pleased the judges and earned first overall. Senior small group “Brother” received second overall and “We Both Reached for the Gun” first overall. Senior hip hop large group “Wind It Up” took first overall and musical theatre teen production “Hunchback of Notre Dame” entertained the audience and received second overall for their division. Once again, the judges presented many special awards to individual members of the troupe: “Million Dollar Smile Award” to Heather Fuduli; “Check My Charisma Award” to Chassidy Pappas; “Sutton Foster Award” to Lindsay Dunn; “Bootilicious Award” to Alyssa Morrissey; “Gold Medal Award” to Jen Baxter; “Total Control Award” to Jen Ruchalski; “I Own the Stage Award” to Kaitlin Rago; “Perfect Pair Award” to Matt Tiberi and Courtney Chlominski.
