YMCA honors staff and volunteers
Hardyston The Sussex County YMCA recently paid tribute to all of their hard working staff and volunteers at their 2nd Annual Staff and Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. Over 100 staff members, volunteers and special guests came out to recognize the hard work and dedication that these individuals have exhibited. “I am thankful to have had the opportunity to acknowledge the YMCA spirit and mission-based dedication, that each of these individuals exemplifies,” said David Carcieri, Executive Director of the Sussex County YMCA. “It is this group of special people that separates the YMCA from other organizations and allows us to better serve our community.” YMCA staff and volunteers were presented with awards for their accomplishments for both 2005 and 2006. Outstanding volunteers were presented with the Carl R. “Bud” Luthman Award, named after the YMCA’s prominent volunteer and affectionately known as “The Bud.” Carl R. “Bud” Luthman Award Recipients for 2005 were Jim Boyd; Christopher King; Denise Current; Glenn Lewis; Jim Downing; Kevin Naser; Betsy and Larry Edsall; Mark Vukovich; and Laura Franc. “Bud” Luthman Award Recipients for 2006 were Lori Biehler; Carl R. “Bud” Luthman; Mike Briegel; Jean Martin; Antoinette Fasino; Lisa Smith; Emily Harp; Lee Trimble; Aileen Koch; and Frank Warr. Exceptional staff members were given the W. Daniel McCain Award, which is named after the former President and CEO of the Metro YMCAs of the Oranges. W. Daniel McCain was an incredible leader who was responsible for the construction of the Sussex County YMCA’s Hardyston facility. W. Daniel McCain Award Recipients for 2005 were Janet Anderson; June Papa; Joanne Browne; Nora Simone; Lis Berlado; Rose Steinwand; Kurt Haas; Maureen Tsadilas; Lori Hoffmann; Chrissy Vnencak; and Carolyn Koch. McCain Award Recipients for 2006 were Daniel Basek; Josh Myers; Debbie Caggianese; Loni Nakos; Alma Dhuyvetter; Sandra Sica; Linda Fasano; Debbie Soutter; and Diana Hetyei.
