We need tutors
Would you like to help an adult to be self-supporting and live a more satisfying life? The volunteer tutors of Literacy Volunteers of Sussex County do just that. We tutor adults needing help in their use of English whether they are born abroad or raised in the United States. We do this at no charge, one-on-one, on a confidential basis, in Sussex County and northern Warren County. We have a waiting list of students, so we’re seeking more tutors. To become a tutor you do not need a teaching background. We train you. Our next training will be offered in two locations: Tranquility, at 6:30 p.m. on seven Thursdays, starting March 4; and Newton, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, starting March 10. The first session, March 4 or March 10, gives an orientation to tutoring. This will enable you to decide whether to proceed with the training and engage in a genuinely gratifying process: enabling someone to live a much richer life. For more details and/or to sign up, call Literacy Volunteers of Sussex County at 973-300-9444, write to lvasc@tellurian.net or go to our Web site: literacyforyou.org.
