We need tutors

Would you like to help an adult to be self-supporting and live a more satisfying life? The volunteer tutors of Literacy Volunteers of Sussex County do just that. We tutor adults needing help in their use of English — whether they are born abroad or raised in the United States. We do this at no charge, one-on-one, on a confidential basis, in Sussex County and northern Warren County. We have a waiting list of students, so we’re seeking more tutors. To become a tutor you do not need a teaching background. We train you. Our next training will be offered in two locations: Tranquility, at 6:30 p.m. on seven Thursdays, starting March 4; and Newton, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, starting March 10. The first session, March 4 or March 10, gives an orientation to tutoring. This will enable you to decide whether to proceed with the training and engage in a genuinely gratifying process: enabling someone to live a much richer life. For more details and/or to sign up, call Literacy Volunteers of Sussex County at 973-300-9444, write to lvasc@tellurian.net or go to our Web site: literacyforyou.org.
