Wantage dentist gives smiles
Wantage - Rosemary Wood, DMD, of Skylands Dental Care in Wantage, put smiles on the faces of six children participating in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sussex County as part of the American Dental Association’s fourth annual “Give Kids a Smile!” on Feb. 3. Dr. Wood and her staff donated approximately $3,000 of dental check-ups and treatments, including x-rays, cleaning, sealants, fillings, and fluoride treatments all at no cost. Joining Dr. Wood in donating their time were staff members Jerol Morosoff, office manager; Sandra Laga and Dolores Coughlin, certified dental assistants; and Carolyn Schwesinger, registered dental hygienist. Last year Dr. Wood and her staff provided similar dental services at no cost to seven local children involved in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. In 2004, Dr. Wood and her daughter, a graduate of the N.J. Dental School, participated in Give Kids a Smile Day! at the dental school, where her daughter is currently enrolled in the oral surgery program. A former resident of Jefferson, she recently moved to Warwick, N.Y., to be closer to her practice and her patients. She opened her practice in Wantage two years ago. “We are very grateful to Dr. Wood and her staff for providing such a wonderful service for our kids,” said Patty Tomaszewski, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sussex County.
