    Wallkill Valley Knights stung by Sting, 3-2 The W.V. Knights-U-13 boys team lost a heartbreaker to West Paterson Sting, 3-2. Knights trailing by one received a goal from Eric Checkur to tie game before heading into half time. West Paterson scored two quick goals to start the second half. With around 15 minutes left in the game the Knights offense came to life, a goal by Matthew Jimenez brought them within 1. The knights had a 1/2 dozen other chances to tie the game but could not find the back of the net. The knights are in the rebuilding process, losing 5 key players and having 6 new players on the team, Coach Jimenez was impressed with the way his team played today. The Knight’s next opponent on Sept. 20th is Wharton at Wharton. Shooting Stars slam Mount Olive, 7-1 The Wallkill Valley Shooting Stars U11 Girls team played their first game of the season against Mt. Olive. The Shooting Stars were victorious with a final score of 7-1. The first goal of the season was scored by Ashlyn Gec followed by Ashley Schoenfeld. Katie Bertoa and Morgan Carr scored two goals each and one final goal was scored by Hannah Brozowski. The Shooting Stars defense was rock solid and only let one penalty goal in. Next week the Shooting Stars travel to Long Valley to take on the Clash. The Wallkill Valley Warriors whip the Hurricanes, 5-1 Today the Wallkill Valley Warriors U10 girls soccer team won 5-1 against the Wanaque Lakeland Hurricanes. Two goals scored by Chloe, two by Joy and one goal scored by Hanna! Assists made by Jenna, Leah C. and Adriana. Our outstanding defense was played by Jaime, Sara, Grace and Jenna. The Wallkill Valley Strikers slam Chatham, 7-0 The Wallkill Valley Strikers U14 boys) travel soccer team faced the Chatham Revolution and were triumphant in a dominant 7-0 win. Semir Vucteovic scored 4 goals, one being a header on a corner kick. Andrew Reed was a stone wall in goal, letting none go through, with a gymnastic diving save behind our wall on a near free kick. And, Ryan Neal scored his first goal as a Striker on the left wing. Club notes The Wallkill Valley Soccer Club is running a free soccer clinic. Sept. 19 and 26, for boys and girls eight, nine and 10 years of age that live in the wallkill region. Pre-registrations can be done on line at wallkillvalleysoccerclub.com, space is limited. Players looking for a club to play for, can also register on line. All home club games are played at Hardyston Sports complex on Wheatsworth road, Sunday afternoons. Rangerettes ramup up The Wallkill Valley Rangerettes U-13 Girls Soccer Team will begin their season this Saturday, September 20, 2009 against the Highland Panthers. Game Time is at 2:45 P.M. at the Wheatsworth Road Sports Complex in Hardyston. Please come out and support the girls.
