Vernon Dems to hold affair for candidate

    Vernon - The Vernon Democratic Club will hold a wine and cheese "meet the candidate" affair from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18, at the McAfee Fire House on Route 94. Jeff Blank, the Democratic candidate for township council, will discuss his campaign. Also expected to attend are Thomas Boyle and Brian Murphy, Assembly candidates from the 24th district, Dick Conklin, township Democratic chair, and Howard Burrell, Sussex County Democratic chair. Two seats are up for election in November. Republican candidates are incumbent councilmen Neil Desmond and Austin Carew.
