Vernon bulky waste clean-up day is April 25
VERNON The Vernon Township Clean Communities program will hold a bulky waste clean-up day on Saturday, April 25 at the DPW Complex on Riggs Way from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items that will be accepted are tires, furniture, mattresses, carpets and appliances (stoves, washers/dryers, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and televisions.) Residents are allowed four tires per household which must be removed from rims. No truck tires or construction debris will be accepted. This event is being held for Vernon Township residents only. The cost is $20 per residential vehicle load as per ordinance 09-11. Proper identification, such as a driver’s license, tax bill or utility bill is required at time of ticket purchase. Tickets can be purchased at the DPW building daily between the hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday and at the township clerk’s office Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance; no tickets will be sold at the gate, according to officials. Brush will also be accepted at this time free of charge, but it must be separated from bulky waste items. Leaves will not be accepted. DPW employees will be available to assist residents.
