FRANKLIN — In an effort to “make our town shine,” the borough’s economic development committee is sponsoring its annual Franklin Community Clean Up Day, officially scheduled for Saturday, April 18, from 8 a.m. until noon. Organizers of the event, including Economic Development Committee member Betty Allen, are asking “residents, businesses and organizations” to devote a few hours of their time to help the town become litter free. The clean up will be held rain or shine, and everyone participating is asked to bring a rake, gloves and even a friend or two to help out. Clean-up crews will meet at the Franklin Heritage Museum at 8 a.m. and will be dispatched to other areas of town “or they can pick an area of their own,” Allen said. Lunch is expected to be provided at 1 p.m., following the conclusion of cleanup activities. “It’s an opportunity to clean up the remains of winter and greet the coming of spring with a new, clean face,” Allen said. “We will be working all areas of town.” Fore more information, call borough hall at 973-827-9280.
