Tavern announces no smoking policy
Sparta Citing the importance of customer and employee health, The Homestead Rest will adopt a no smoking policy, to take effect on Thursday, Sept. 15. The tavern is taking this action, in part, to heighten awareness of second-hand smoke issues raised by the U.S. Surgeon General Richard Carmona, who has indicated that second-hand smoking may be harmful and hazardous to the health of the general public. Further, studies by the National Restaurant Association, the Gallop Poll, Zagat Surveys, and the Eagleton Institute survey in New Jersey show customers want smoke-free dining. The Homestead Rest, located at 294 N. Church Road in Sparta, is a landmark in Sussex County. To dine in an atmosphere filled with horse farm memorabilia, call 973-383-4914.
