Homestead Nursing Home resident Alex Krucinski receives gifts donated by SussexBank customers and presented by SussexBank employees Jenn Smith, left, and Jane Brennan. SussexBank employees and customers joined together to bring holiday cheer to residents of BarnHill Care Center and Homestead Nursing Home in Newton. Each year, bank employees make ornaments to decorate a “giving tree,” which goes on display at the Newton office. The ornaments had a tag attached listing an item requested by a senior citizen residing at the BarnHill Care Center. Customers then choose a decoration and donate the item that was indicated on the tag. Employees also “adopted” and “granted a wish” for a resident from the Homestead Nursing Home.
