    June 18 A juvenile pled guilty to second degree eluding, third degree theft of a person, third degree auto theft and several motor vehicle charges. She was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The juvenile, age 15, of Newark, was sentenced to two years probation, time already served in detention (approximately three and a half months) and a 12-month driver’s license suspension when she turns 17. She must also complete the Kids Peace Residential Program, submit a DNA sample, undergo random drug testing, pay $105 in court fines and restitution to the victims, which is still to be determined. In January, the juvenile and a juvenile co-defendant assaulted an employee of one of the Willowglen Academy Residential homes in Green, stole her cell phone, wallet and car keys and then stole her car. They led police on a chase which ended at the Rockaway Mall when she crashed the vehicle into to other parked cars. June 19 An indictment charges William J. Mullin of Milford, Pa., with second degree eluding, third degree receiving stolen property and fourth degree criminal mischief. The case was investigated by Troopers from the New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania State Police. The Grand Jury alleges that on July 29, 2008, the defendant led police from all three districts on a motor vehicle chase in a stolen car. After crashing the vehicle in Milford, Pa., the defendant fled the scene on foot. Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next 6 weeks. Ryan McElwee, 28, of Franklin, was sentenced to three years in New Jersey State Prison, $1,305 in fines and a six-month loss of driver’s license. He pled guilty on May 11 to a third degree crime of possession of controlled dangerous substance and a motor vehicle ticket for littering. He admitted to possessing 12 bags of heroin in Sparta on Oct. 7, 2008. Jesse Reinhardt, 23, of Ogdensburg, was sentenced to two years probation, 40 hours community service, a substance abuse evaluation and treatment and $155 in fines. He pled guilty on May 4 to the fourth degree crime of possession of imitation firearm. He admitted to shooting at people with an airsoft pistol on Oct. 30, 2008, in Ogdensburg. June 22 Rudolfo DeLeon, 34, of Franklin, pled guilty to a fourth degree crime of possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Sentencing is anticipated for July 31. He admitted to possessing less than one ounce of marijuana with the intent to sell it in Hardyston on April 23. Thomas Sudduth, 33, of Lafayette, pled guilty to a third degree crime of theft of movable property. Sentencing is anticipated for July 17. He admitted to stealing hydrocodone from Weiss Markets in Newton by posing as an HVAC repairman. Shannon McNamara, 48, of Newton, pled guilty to a third degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is anticipated for Aug. 7. She admitted to possessing a small amount of heroin in Newton on Dec. 1, 2008. The matter was investigated by Sussex County Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force. Joseph Aulisi, 39, of Lafayette, pled guilty to two counts of third degree distribution of a controlled dangerous Substance. Sentencing is anticipated for Sept. 11. He admitted to distributing marijuana on two occasions to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force. Scott Slater, 42, of Hopatcong, entered a guilty plea to an accusation charging him with third degree aggravated assault and third degree terroristic threats. Slater admitted to the court that on or about Feb. 15, he had threatened an adult female with a knife during a domestic violence dispute. He further admitted that he assaulted an adult male who was trying to assist the female victim in the domestic violence dispute. Slater is scheduled to be sentenced on July 31. Theresa Lavin, 24, of Sussex, pled guilty to a third degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is anticipated for July 20. She admitted to possessing 18 bags of heroin in Sparta on Jan. 22. The matter was investigated by Sparta Police Officer Joseph Antonello. June 23 Gregory M. Gottshall, 21, of Newton plead guilty to fourth degree resisting arrest. Sentencing is anticipated for July 17. Police approached Gottshall on the street and advised him that there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest and he fled the scene and was arrested the next day, When police found Gottshall, he was under his girlfriend’s bed at the EconoLodge in Andover. Douglas Scherr, 28, of Mt. Olive, entered a guilty plea to an indictment charging him with one count of a fourth degree charge for a Megan’s Law violation for failure to notify law enforcement that he had moved to a new address. Under the provisions of Megan’s Law, Scherr was required to notify the local police that he was moving to a new address 10 days prior to his actual move. Scherr admitted to the court that on or about April 30, 2007 he had moved to a new address in Mt. Olive, Morris County, without first notifying the Hopatcong Police Department of the change in his address. Scherr is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 7. June 26 William Rodenbaugh, 43, of Newton, was sentenced to four years in New Jersey State Prison with 18 months parole ineligibility and was given credit for 260 days served. His driving privileges were suspended for 42 months, he must pay total fines and penalties of $4,705 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. He pled guilty on June 4 to eluding, a third degree crime and to the motor vehicle offenses of driving while suspended and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving injuries. On October 8, 2008 in Sparta, the defendant attempted to elude a Sparta Police Officer who was pulling him over on a report of a possible drunk driver. He continued from Sparta to Andover Township at a high rate of speed, nearly causing numerous traffic accidents before side swiping another vehicle. Two passengers in that vehicle sustained injuries as a result of the collision. He later abandoned the vehicle, fled on foot and was ultimately found in a residence in Newton the following day.
