    Aug. 27 A juvenile pled guilty to third degree burglary. He was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The juvenile, age 17, of Vernon, was sentenced to an additional six months probation added to current probationary term and a six month driver’s license suspension. He must also have a substance abuse evaluation and follow all recommendations, undergo random drug testing, attend school every day and follow all home and school rules, submit a DNA sample, have no contact with the victim or any co-defendants, testify truthfully against co-defendants and pay restitution to the victim. In July, the juvenile and several co-defendants, broke into the victim’s home in Vernon taking numerous items, including guitars, electronics and jewelry. Aug. 31 Michael P. Bowden, 26, of Hampton, pled guilty to theft of person, a third degree crime. On Oct. 14, 2008 in Hampton Township, the defendant took a pocketbook from a woman at the Hampton Mini Mall as she was approaching her vehicle to leave. He dragged her onto the ground and then fled around the building to the rear loading area of the store. Edward T. Murphy, 19, of Sussex, pled guilty to one count of criminal sexual contact, a fourth degree crime. Between the dates of Aug. 26 and Aug. 28, 2008, Murphy had a minor female touch his erect genitals for his sexual gratification. Arthur W. Huttemeyer, 67, of Vernon, pled guilty to one count of sexual assault, a second degree crime. Huttemeyer, while watching a 9-year-old girl, rubbed her vaginal area for his own sexual gratification. Sept. 2 Joseph E. August, 25, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to three years New Jersey State Prison and was given credit for 92 days served. He must pay restitution in the amount of $200, pay total fines and penalties of $155 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. He pled guilty on July 13 to burglary, a third degree crime, and to a violation of probation. On June 10 in Hopatcong, he kicked in the door to his landlord’s portion of the residence he was living at, stole a computer and flat screen TV and then sold the items to a pawn shop. He confessed in a statement to police. He was serving a probationary term in Essex County on a possession of heroin charge at the time of his arrest for this incident.
