    Nov. 30 Thomas Kuhrt, 31, of Sussex pled guilty to burglary, theft and eluding, all third degree crimes. In October of 2008, defendant was driving a motorcycle at high speeds in Wantage, When police signaled him to stop he eluded police, did a U-turn and drove towards the police car. He was found to be intoxicated. Then in August of this year he broke into a Wantage home and took $1500. Joseph P. Zappile, 20, of Sussex pled guilty to the third crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He admitted to possessing 18 bags of heroin during a course of a motor vehicle stop in Vernon. Dec. 3 Charles Sands, 27, of Phillipsburg was indicted with two counts of third degree aggravated assault. A grand jury indictment is a charge only. The defendant is presumed innocent until guilt may be proved at a jury trial. Dec. 4 Christopher Casale, 33, formerly of Sussex was sentenced to serve three years in New Jersey State Prison. He was also ordered to pay $205 in monetary penalties. The court also recommended to the Commissioner for the Department and the New Jersey Parole Board that Casale should engage in substance abuse treatment and to have no contact with the victim in this matter. He pled guilty on Oct. 5 admitted to the court that on or about July 21 he had assaulted an adult female during a domestic dispute when he pushed the adult female out of a motor vehicle. James E. Conklin, Jr., 26, of Bushkill, PA was sentenced to probation for a period of two years. As a condition of Conklin’s probation he was ordered to serve 30 days in the Sussex County Jail. He was also ordered to pay $205 in monetary penalties, to have no contact with the victim and to comply with the terms of a final restraining order entered under the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act, obtain mental health counseling and to maintain his employment. Conklin was also ordered to not possession weapons. He pled guilty on Oct. 7 to terroristic threats, a third degree crime. Conklin admitted to the court that on or about June 1 he had threatened to assault an adult female during a domestic violence dispute involving telephone calls and text messages. Kristofer Baglio, 29, of Stanhope, was sentenced to three years in the New Jersey State Prison and a 6-month loss of his driver’s license. He must also submit a DNA sample and pay $1,195 in fines. He pled guilty on Oct. 5, to third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, namely heroin. In August the defendant admitted to possessing heroin to Hopatcong Police after a brief investigation of a possible overdose. Jose Mauro Perez Dominguez, 25, of Sussex, was sentenced to 88 days jail (with credit for time served). He must also submit a DNA sample, pay $155 in fines and $167 in restitution. He pled guilty on Oct. 15 to fourth degree joyriding. In September the defendant took a vehicle in Wantage that did not belong to him, drove it until it ran out of gas in Frankford and abandoned it. Jessica Rank, 27, of Saylorsburg, PA, was sentenced to three years probation and time served. As conditions of probation she must also undergo a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, undergo random drug testing, submit a DNA sample, maintain employment, pay $405 in court fines and $8,720 in restitution (joint and several with co-defendant). She pled guilty on Aug. 17 to three counts of third degree burglary. On Dec. 3, 2008, May 9 and June 1, 2009, Rank and a co-defendant entered the Andover residence of her parents without their knowledge or permission, stole jewelry and coins and later pawned them. Brandon Talmadge, 24, of Sussex was sentenced to three years probation on condition that he serve 180 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility. He must also undergo random drug testing, submit a DNA sample, obtain a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, pay $405 in court fines and $70 in restitution. He pled guilty on June 30 to three counts of third degree burglary and a motor vehicle violation of driving while suspended. In January the defendant drove two co-defendants to two different residences in Hardyston where they broke into vehicles taking a gift card, CDs and PBA cards. Dec. 9 The Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Stanhope Boro Police Department announced the arrest of Vanentino A. Ianetti, Jr., 59, of 15 New Street in Stanhope, on the charge of murder, a crime of the first degree, and possession of a weapon with the purpose to use it unlawfully, a crime of the third degree. Police were dispatched to 15 New Street on Dec. 8 in response to a 911 call. Upon their arrival, they observed Pamela Ianetti lying on the floor inside the residence. She had suffered multiple stab wounds and was deceased. A long knife with apparent blood stains was recovered at the scene. An autopsy was performed on Mrs. Ianetti during the late evening of Dec. 8, 2009. The medical examiner determined that the manner of death was homicide and the cause of death was multiple sharp force wounds. The investigation is being conducted by the Stanhope Police Department, the New Jersey State Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office. Bail has been set for Mr. Ianetti in the amount of $500,000, without the 10 percent option.
