Strange creatures pay a visit

Since a class trip to Jenkinson Aquarium in Point Pleasant was not possible, students in the Multiply Handicapped and Preschool Disabled class at Hamburg School had the aquarium come to them. Last Monday, this was the reward for the students walking the equivalent of 100 miles and lifting 10,000 pounds. Initiated by school therapists Mary Ellen Diffily and Colleen DeYoung, the activities were carried out on a daily basis. Each day the children would lift one-pound weights and clocked their mileage using pedometers. Jenkinson Aquarium presented a special learning demonstration for this group and later for the whole student body.
