Steppin' out for fitness

VERNON - May is family fitness month at Cedar Mountain Elementary School. To encourage participation in the event physical education teacher Leslie Deutch, below, got the kids from Cedar Mountain off to a hopping start with ACES (All Children Exercising Simultaneously). "We have about 500 students in the school and we had them all outside doing the Cha Cha Slide, the YMCA and the Cotton Eyed Joe and finished off with patterned hops with the challenge of everyone finishing together," said Deutch. Superintendent of Schools Anthony Macerino, top right, was also present and wearing his sneakers so that he could hop with the best of them.
