Augusta — A local web design company, AdvancedGroup.Net, was selected for the recent redesign of the New Jersey State Fair's Web site, njstatefair.org. The 2005 state fair enjoyed another great year, with approximately 175,000 people visiting the fairgrounds, and over 80,000 visits to the fair's new Web site during the month of August. The Web site project included a complete reorganization of information, graphic design modifications for a more unified look and feel, and the integration of a content-management tool. "We worked with Dr. Howard Worts, the state fair manager, to focus on the highlights of the fair, and strived to present the information in a simple, intuitive manner," said Lynn Lancaster, creative director and partner of AdvancedGroup.net. "In addition to the redesign, the new Web site has been modified to permit authorized staff members to control the site content without altering the design. This includes the ability to manage text, edit schedules, process online ticket orders and upload photographs and other graphic images. In other words, we designed the structure, but the staff controls the content." It was the 69th year for the fair. While attendance was slightly lower than last year, considering the picture perfect weather in 2004 and the heat of 2005, it was considered a success. Many favorable comments were received, which included positive feedback regarding the Web site. In response to feedback from fairgoers, the fair's management continues to improve upon the facilities each year: in 2005 the new bathroom was completed (no more lines) and the livestock area was paved (less dust and more easily accessible by wheelchairs and strollers.) AdvancedGroup.net provides Web site development and hosting services to businesses of all sizes in the tri-state area. The company will be celebrating its tenth anniversary in February of 2006.
