    tournament lets kids be kids Denville — St. Peter's Orphanage and Village in Denville sponsored their 5th Annual Invitational Tournament in August, inviting several other similar programs from around the state to participate in the day events. From 9 a.m.-4 p.m., sporting events and activities "let kids be kids" while engaging in friendly competition and laughter. There were many events to compete in: tug-of-war, egg toss, water balloon toss, wheel-barrel relay, three-legged relay, scooter relay, three-on-three basketball, pie eating contest, potato sack race, water relay, bike race, and running race. Many companies and local stores donated items such as food and money, or offered discounts, ensuring the success of the event. The orphanage is a specialized residential treatment facility that services 16 young men, ranging in age from nine to 18, who have been placed there by the state child welfare and protection agency, from the Department of Youth and Family Services.
