VERNON — Matt Emerson struck out four, scattering five hits in a 2-0 win over Jefferson on Monday, May 5.
Emerson's teammates Josh Rodriguez and Chris Pontus scored a run each for Vernon (6-8) respectively.
Jefferson pitcher Tyler Fiedler put on a solid performance giving up two earned runs on five hits and one strikeout.
The Vikings are on a four-game winning streak. Tenth-seed Vernon has managed to take down seventh-seeded South Hunterdon, second-seeded Lenape Valley Regional and sixth-seeded Wallkill Valley Regional in recent days.
Jefferson fell to 10-9.
