During the last run of the day and while surprising and at the same time not surprising the crowds, Aaron Gwin of Wildomar, Calif. is shown in his winning run, 1.28 seconds ahead of second place winner Neko Mulally of Reading, Penn. The winning run took 2:08.01.
VERNON — Last weekend, the 2014 Mountain Creek Spring Classic Mountain Bike Races brought in racers from as far away as New Zealand with hundreds of racers in the various competitions.
More than 60 international racers turned out for the professional categories of the annual event. Local Pro Racer George Ryan of Vernon placed 12th in a field of 61 professional racers in the men’s division. Ryan’s time was only 10.10 seconds behind the first-place winner Aaron Gwin of Wildomar, Calif.
