The Jefferson Township Recreation Department is accepting registrations for the 2019-20 winter season of its successful Challenger Basketball and Gym Activities program for special needs children. Boys and girls age 5–18 (or the completion of high school) and young adults 19-35 with physical or mental challenges are invited to join this program. Tom DeVries, a resident of Jefferson Township, will manage the league. The activities will begin in the White Rock Elementary School’s Lower Gym, 2 Francine Place, Milton/Oak Ridge on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and continue on Saturdays until Feb. 20. The program will not meet on Dec. 21 and 28. Starting on Tuesday, Jan. 7, the program will also run every Tuesday evening from 6 to 7 pm at Cozy Lake School, 205 Cozy Lake Road, Milton/Oak Ridge and continue until Feb. 25.
