With the New Jersey USAIGC State Championships around the corner, the Garden Gators attended their last regular season meet at their sister gym, Giant Gymnastics of Hackettstown.

The Garden Gator Spring Classic was a large two-day event, with six sessions in total, each session hosting about 45 gymnasts. Being at the tail end of Spring break for most schools, the Sparta Garden Gators were missing a number of gymnasts. With the smaller team in attendance, and the larger meet, they still were able to achieve successful team results with the Copper team placing second out of the nine teams attending, and the Silver team placing third of the 11 teams competing.

Individually, the Gators performed well also. Meagan Ward of Fredon placed first All-Around for a third time this season, as Reese Abrams took first All-Around for a second time. Both will attend the state championship meet on Mother’s Day weekend in Wildwood, along with fellow Copper gymnasts, Ciara Peselli, Jadyn DePaolo, Meghan Smith and Katie Hwyla. The four Bronze gymnasts attending are Marguerite Bysshe, Caroline Dietz, Emily Rodriguez and Tori Frisbie. Representing the Silver team are Kelly Hurley, Rebecca Rodriguez, Gianna Macones and Dara DePaolo.
