Einreinhofer wins bronze in H/W/S Championships

Delana Einreinhofer took home the bronze medal to lead the Rangers at the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Championships on Thursday, Oct. 19 at the Phillipsburg Athletic Complex.

Einreinhofer, a junior, finished the 5000-meter run in 19:46, trailing only North Hunterdon teammates Kelly Shanklin (19:29) and Saralyn Frederick (19:38) in the 90-competitor race.

Wallkill Valley finished seventh in the 14-team team competition. North Hunterdon won the team championship for the second time in three seasons.

Other girls finishing included Haley Murphy (26th in 11:37), Kayleigh Newsome (36th in 23:29), Bailey Cook (54th in 25:33), Annette Nathan (82nd in 29:13) and Emily Beck (86th in 31:44).

On the boys side, Jackson Saltzman was the highest Ranger finisher, placing 36th in a time of 19:37. Other finishers are Zachary Neiper (67th in 21:34), Samuel Tobachnick (83rd in 22:94), Nick Gibson (87th in 22:52), Daniel DeFinis (91st in 23:08), Ty Dreifus (108th in 25:46), Colin Mogavero (112th in 28:20), Matt Geisendorfer (83rd in 30:07) and Shawn Delapaz (84th in 30:24). The Rangers placed 14th in the team event.

The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) sectional championships are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 28 at Garrett Mountain in Woodland Park.

Boys soccer

In their lone victory last week, the Rangers blanked Morris Tech, 4-0, on Oct. 16 in Denville.

Dante Torres connected for three goals and Ivan Reyes added a goal and an assist. Alijaan Anjum made two saves to earn the shutout.

Reyes (seven goals, seven assists) leads the team in scoring for Wallkill Valley (9-7-2).

Girls soccer

The Rangers wrapped up their 2023 season with a 6-0 loss at Newton on Friday, Oct. 20.

Ashley Sutherland (two goals, two assists), Adrianna Romeo (one goal, one assist) and Emily Pauciello (two goals) paced the offense for Wallkill Valley (0-12-2).

Field hockey

Sarina Sanders (12 goals, eight assists), Ella Darvalics (eight goals, five assists), Olivia Williams (six goals, five assists), Joy Oostdyk (three goals, two assists), Lexi Cammarata (three goals, one assist) and Jenna Cammarata (one goal, one assist) led the Rangers in scoring this season.

Wallkill Valley (5-5-3) awaits the seeding for the state tournament slated to be released this week.
