Scout earns Eagle rank

Chris Evertz of Boy Scout Troop 97 Sussex/Wantage recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout, which required he earn at least 21 merit badges and perform a service project. For his project, he refurbished and renovated an outdoor reading center at Walnut Ridge School in Vernon. He cleared and removed brush and debris, built six new benches and landscaped the area with over 50 shrubs and plants. Chris is a senior at Vernon Township High School, where he is also a member of the ski team and mountain bike club.
