Scholarship winners are playing recital

LAFAYETTE Jonathan Evers and Alexander Kochman have been awarded scholarships by the North Jersey Piano Teachers Association. Both will play at the annual Scholarship Recital on Saturday, March 27 at the Reformed Baptist Church on Meadows Road in Lafayette. Jon is a student of Sparta Teacher Beverly Flormann and a senior at Jefferson High School. He will be performing the Second Movement of Scriabins Fourth Sonata. Alexander is a student of Vernon teacher Margaret Korcynski and a senior at Vernon High School. He will perform Chopin’s Valse op 64 no.2. Other intermediate and advanced students from teachers Don Martin, Irene McCormick, Diane Arnold, Ed Korcynski, John Korcynski and Anna DeJulia will also be performing. The scholarship is annually awarded to a student who is either majoring or minoring in piano. Donations will be accepted.
