Respecting the flag

Joanne and Thomas Gundlach of Vernon found this bruin in their yard on Saturday, May 16. They described the bear as about 6 feet tall and guessed its weight at about 400 to 500 pounds. “It appears that he is taking a minute to admire and respect our flag,” the Gundlachs wrote. They dubbed it “A great Memorial Day picture of New Jersey’s wildlife.” It’s hard to disagree with that sentiment.
