Republican group awards scholarships

Vernon — The Vernon Township Republican Organization has named the recipients of the organization’s 2010 scholarship awards. The scholarship recipients are: Kayla Scovell and Sarah Sledgeski of Vernon Township High School, who will receive $1,000 each; and Katelyn Irene MacDonald, a 2009 Vernon Township High School graduate, who will receive a nontraditional scholarship of $1,000 to attend Sussex County Community College.
