This year has been declared the “year of service” by the Boy Scouts of America and Troop 912 is right on top of things with community service projects at Vernon schools. At Glen Meadow School, Scouts helped work on the putting green, which has grown from 100 square feet to almost 1,000. They had to remove eight inches of soil and replace it with four inches of quarry dust, moving almost 40 cubic yards of material.
