Pennies for Peace

Clifton E. Lawrence School students, in cooperation with One Book, One Community, are reading the book, “Listen to the Wind,” by Greg Mortenson. Students are participating in his Pennies for Peace project to raise money for schools in remote areas of Pakistan and Afganistan. Maryann Lonsky’s enrichment students have studied the culture of these countries. As part of their study they sampled foods from the region including nan bread, apricots and tea.
