Ogdensburg — After being snowbound for days a capacity crowd turned out for the Maya Gordon fundraising pancake breakfast at Saint Thomas of Aquin Church here. The first seating, after the 8 a.m. service, was attended by approximately 100 people. The event was co-sponsored by the Knights of Columbus chapter 588 and the Holy Name Society. “A great outpouring of support for a good cause,” said the Rev. John Pilipie, as he looked at the hall full of people. Maya has familial hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis and the funds raised will go to the Gordon family to help with expenses. “The turnout is unbelievable,” said event chairman Ed Shelton. The parish hall was set up to have seating for 92 people and several people waited around for seats to become available. As second serving was scheduled after the 10:30 a.m. Mass.
