Sussex - Costello wins award Tom Costello, science department supervisor, was selected as the J. Thomas Fangman Science Education Leadership Award winner for 2005. The award is presented to a science educator who has made a significant contribution to science education. Costello will receive a $500 award to be used for science education at his discretion. Costello was honored at an awards banquet at the New Jersey Science Convention held on Oct. 6. Staff donates funds to Leukemia/Lymphoma Society Staff at HPRHS recently donated $685 for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night walk. The Keur and Heinke families walked the Light the Night walk on Saturday, Oct. 1, carrying a banner saying, “High Point Regional High School supports the walk.” Disabled class aids animals Teacher Jeanne Heinke’s multiply disabled class will be combining their love of animals with a service project by making homemade dog biscuits for Dr. Karen Dashfield’s dogs that arrived at the New Jersey State Fair Grounds in Augusta. The animals were rescued from areas devastated by hurricane Katrina. A former High Point student’s parent will sew blankets to fit inside cages. This will be Heinke’s class’ “National Make-a-Difference Day” project.
