Musical grant winner

Glen Meadow Middle School teacher Eileen Pavlik recently received a $1,000 grant from the Quotes for Cash program established through the Teacher’s Insurance Plan of New Jersey. Called Notes to Numbers: The Keyboard Math Initiative, the grant money will be used to establish and set up a lab with four keyboard stations, and to buy the program called PianoKids — a piano keyboard system that uses computer technology to teach mathematical concepts through the use of the piano keyboard. This program will be the first of its kind to be set up in New Jersey.
