Middle school will present holiday concerts

Vernon — Glen Meadow Middle School will present its holiday concerts on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 7 and 8, at 7 p.m. On Dec. 7, the music department will present the first half of its two-part concert. Featured performing groups will be the seventh grade chorus and the orchestra. The chorus, under the direction of Eileen Pavlik, and the orchestra, under the direction of Rachel Whitty, will perform a variety of traditional and holiday pieces. The second half, on Dec. 8, will feature the eighth grade choir and Glen Meadow Voices, under the direction of Margaret Werner, and the eighth grade wind ensemble and Glen Meadow Concert Band, under the direction of David Willer, performing a variety of traditional holiday music. In order to raise supplementary funds for its very active performing groups, the school is suggesting a donation of $2 for adults and $1 for students and senior citizens. All students under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. A collection box for canned goods for needy families in the area will be available for anyone who would like to contribute.
