VERNON-Township officials have scheduled an open meeting for 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, to introduce a new interactive mapping system developed by the county to aid in planning and development. Realtors, engineers, contractors and planners are invited, along with interested citizens, to attend the session. GIS stands for Geographic Information System, and it is a web-based interactive map that can show resources, roads, topography, wildlife, and other features of the land. The township map is available at http://njgin.sussex.nj.us/VernonMain. The meeting will be held in the courtroom in town hall on Church Street.
