HAMBURG — Wallkill Valley Regional High School studio art students won the $1000 grand prize for best collaboration at the Jack O' Lantern Walk pumpkin carving contest sponsored by Crystal Springs at the Grand Cascades Resort this past Friday.
Wallkill's theme "A Spooky Take on the Paintings that Inspire Us" was carried out by 10 junior and senior art students.
Senior Molly Cheevers also took home the $100 crowd favorite prize for her pumpkin titled "Vincent Van Ghoul" which featured the artists' detached ear. The class plans on using the money for a field trip.
