Wallkill Valley takes awards at state conference

Twenty-three members of the Wallkill Valley Regional High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) participated in the 2017 FBLA State Leadership Conference at Harrah’s in Atlantic City March 15-17.
Kevin Armstrong, Harshil Bhavsar, Kayla Bifano, Zach Dora, Breanna Ebisch, Evan Faner, Tim Hendershot, Samantha Hutnick, Garett Koch, Ryan Kostelnik, Vanessa Kula, Drew Langenfeld, Jake Lonsky, Michael Majewski, John Mueller, Scott Mueller, Ryan Nugent, Abhishek Patel, Lia Pila, Ana Schroeder, Tyler Small, Amanda Spindler, and Kaitlyn Taylor.
The members were accompanied by Mrs. Carol Jurkouich, FBLA Adviser, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Swiss.
Keynote speaker, Mrs. Patty Hendikson, inspired the New Jersey contingency with her “With a little Woo Hoo, everything is easier to do” presentation at the Opening General Session. Members attended various leadership workshops and participated in competitive events.
Ana Schroeder was elected the 2017-2018 New Jersey FBLA Secretary. Garett Koch ran an outstanding campaign for Community Service Vice President. The state honored the Wallkill Valley Business Person of the Year, Mrs. Marie Pallotta from the Franklin Walmart, and the Wallkill Valley Volunteer of the Year, Mrs. Michelle Bifano.
The following FBLA members will now advance to the 2017 National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California, in June: Scott Mueller – Future Business Leader; Michael Majewski – Sales Presentation; Scott Mueller, Tyler Small, and Ryan Kostelnik – Partnership with Business Project; Kaitlyn Taylor, Garett Koch, and Drew Langenfeld – Community Service Project; Harshil Bhavsar – Local Chapter Annual Business Report; and Ana Schroeder, State Secretary.
