To help spread the message about hunger in our community, RoNetco Supermarkets invited special honorary baggers to donate their time bagging groceries in their ShopRite stores for the annual ShopRite Partners in Caring Bag Hunger Day on Sept. 1.
During the Bag Hunger events, and at ongoing happenings throughout the month of September, cashiers accepting monetary donations and ask customers to “round up for change” to help stock the shelves of local food pantries.
In the ShopRites of Byram, Newton, and Franklin, local dignitaries, business owners, police officers, sports fans and food pantry volunteers donated their time to raise awareness for this important cause, all while bagging groceries with a smile.
Since its inception in 1999, ShopRite Partners in Caring has donated nearly $44 million dollars to more than 2,000 charities, including local food banks.
