Ogdensburg resident and award winning photographer, Paul Michael Kane, has found success once again with his third deck of LightBox Photography Cards – this time, the new deck of 52 photo challenge cards is aimed at the mobile photographer — those who shoot images with their phones and tablets.
Kane lunched the project on the popular crowd-source funding website, Kickstarter, back in Mid-March and reached his funding goal in the first 2.5 hours of the campaign. After running the month long campaign, the projected ended up with 617 backers from over 30 different countries.
“The vast majority of images being generated today are from mobile phones and tables — it’s a huge game changer in the photography industry,” notes Kane, an avid mobile photographer. “I am very fond of saying that the best camera you have is the one you have with you, and more often than not, it’s your mobile phone.”
The new deck offers users 52 different photo challenges and gives some insight into how Kane went about fulfilling each challenge with his own image printed on the card. The cards also detail whatever apps Kane utilized to finish the image in post processing.
Along with the Fall release of the Mobile Edition, Kane also has plans for a Wedding Edition to be published alongside the new deck.
”These are 52 ‘must have’ shots if you ever find yourself in the role of a wedding photographer,” says Kane of the fourth deck in the LightBox Photography Card series.
While the Mobile & Wedding Edition won’t be available until later this year, Kane’s first two decks – the Original LightBox Deck and the newly released Macro Edition are available at www.lightboxphotocards.com.
