Sussex Tech hosts annual game dinner

SPARTA —The Sussex County Technical School Outdoor and Archery Club recently held its Annual Game Dinner Buffet at the school.
A portion of the proceeds are donated to the Catch-A-Dream Foundation, which grants once-in-a-lifetime hunting and fishing experiences to children 18 years or younger who have a life-threatening illness.
Under the supervision of advisers, Chef Chad Gasiorek and Jonathan Russo, along with Culinary Instructor Chef Gary Scully, students from the Sussex County Technical School’s Culinary Department prepared and served various game dishes to those who attended. For example, there was venison parmesan, venison/moose chili, pheasant stir-fry and venison sausage and meatballs.
Chef Gasiorek said the evening was a huge success with the largest turn out to-date.
Various hunting items were donated for a small raffle/tricky tray. Simon Peters Sport Shop, Stokes Sport Shop, Sculpted Ice Works and Quaker Creek Butcher Shop all donated toward the game dinner.
