Student asks for donations instead of birthday gifts

The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
NEWTON — Luke Reilly, 10, a fourth-grader at St. Joseph Regional school in Newton asked for toy donations instead of birthday gifts.
His brother Matthew also attends the school, while his older sister, Danielle, attends Pope John in Sparta. The family resides in Hamburg.
All the toys Luke received will be donated to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.
