The Sussex-Warren Chronic Disease Coalition will participatE in a statewide initiative called, “Choose Your Cover.”

This free Skin Cancer Screening program will be held in all counties across New Jersey during the 2014 spring and summer seasons.

The Sussex-Warren Chronic Disease Coalition, a grant held by the Sussex County Department of Environmental and Public Health Services, has arranged for the County’s screening location to be held Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Newton Pool, 35 Moran St. in Newton. The North Jersey Dermatology Center of Rockaway and Lillian Struck APRN from the Affiliated Dermatologists & Dermatologic Surgeons, Pa., have donated their time and expertise to provide this free screening.

The screening area will be held near the main pool entrance, under a tent to protect everyone from the sun. In addition to screenings, the Dept. of Health will host a mini-health fair. Join us for the day and learn how reduce your risks against skin cancer through practicing sun safety behaviors, among other health topics. Free educational materials will also be provided to all participants.
