RoNetco Supermarkets launched its 6th Annual Summer Internship Program with 14 students representing colleges and universities from the Northeast.

The 10-week paid program provides for hands-on, practical experience in whatit takes to operate a high-volume, supermarket with a focus on the customer experience. RoNetco’s innovative programs offer valuable experience for both rising juniors and college seniors. Both programs provide students with an opportunity to learn while they earn. Applying college-related course studies in a viable business environment is an invaluable experience that can’t be duplicated in the classroom.

The Traditional Program for students who will begin their final year of college in the fall will rotate through 10 distinct departments before making their final departmental selection. The Special Services teams, specifically designed for those who will enter their junior year of college in the fall, work with ShopRite’s technical applications that are closely related and affect the computer generated ordering inventory programs.

Many of the participants will spend the duration of the program learning about inventory, sales, marketing, and leadership. Most will identify a challenge or troubleshoot a process that can increase efficiencies that have a direct impact on the customer. Finally, everyone will partake in a presentation for the corporate management team that details their research, findings and conclude the program with recommendations to be considered for implementation.

RoNetco Supermarkets operates seven ShopRite stores in Sussex, Morris and Warren counties.
