Lakeland Bank will award $118,000 in scholarships to high school seniors graduating this year from Bergen, Essex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren counties.

The funds were raised at the Bank’s 2013 Annual Scholarship Golf Outing held last September.

“Lakeland Bank’s Annual Scholarship Golf Outing has provided scholarships to over 500 students since the Bank began hosting this annual event in 1972,” said Thomas Shara, president and CEO of Lakeland Bank. “We believe the lasting impact for these students has not only been personal development but also provides enhanced stability and growth for their family and for the community as well.”

Through its social media channels, the bank also offers college related educational blogs and videos for students and parents. Recent blogs include “Setting Up a Dorm Room–How to Save When Packing for College” and “Tips on How Students Can Manage Money at College.”
