Memorial Day services planned in Oak Ridge

    The American Legion Post 423 will conduct Memorial Day Services at noon on Monday, May 26, will be held at the Post on Legion Road in front of the monuments facing Legion Road.

    Commander Lakhicharran will conduct the services.

    Everyone is invited to attend.

    Lieutenant Colonel Brian J. Gruchacz from Picatinny Arsenal will be the guest speaker. He is currently the product manager for Large Caliber Ammunition. Prior to his assignment at Picatinny, Col. Gruchacz had been deployed to Bosnia and Iraq.

    A tree donated by Michael Mele and Lorraine Rosan will be planted to replace a 50-year-old tree that was destroyed by lighning several years ago. It will be dedicated to the memory of all those who served in the Armed Forces.

    Prior to the services at the Post, Commander Lakhicharran and members of the Color Guard and the Firing Squad will hold services at local cemeteries in the morning; Milton, Oak Ridge, St. Thomas and Holland Mountain.

    Refreshments will be served in the Post at the conclusion of the services.
