The Hardyston Republican Club will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at Tony’s Pizza, 3339 State Route 94, Hamburg.

There will be an optional dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will start at 7:30 p.m.

Freeholder-Elect Carl Lazzaro will be the guest speaker. Lazaro will share the experience that he brings to the Freeholder Board and his plans to work with other freeholders to maintain stable property taxes, provide efficient county services, and obtain the best value for each dollar spent.

Lazzaro has lived in Fredon Township for 22 years and has been a resident of Sussex County for 43 years. He has been married for 33 years and has 4 grown children and 3 grandchildren. He is a graduate of Rutgers University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree. He received his Master’s Degree at the New Brunswick Theological Seminary and has done post-graduate studies for his doctoral.

His experience includes Fredon Township Committee and Planning Board, Fredon Deputy Mayor for 2 years and Mayor for 5 years. He is the founder and executive director of the Drug Treatment Program, Administrator of Adolescent Drug Treatment Program, Newton Board of Education. He is a certified EMT, past captain of the Fredon Rescue Squad, firefighter, Fredon Volunteer Fire Co., and chaplin of the Sussex County Firemen’s Association.

Lazzaro claims there is a crisis in communication on the current freeholder board and the board needs to work together as a team. He promises to provide additional leadership.

“I came to Sussex that I so appreciated as a young man,” says Lazzaro. “I’m a conservative republican at my core and not in name only. I stand for positive leadership, a smaller government footprint and creative conservative answers to complex problems."

The public is invited to attend. Anyone who would like to consider membership in the Hardyston Republican Club is encouraged to attend this meeting.
