OAK RIDGE — The Jefferson Arts Committee will host its second annual "Arts’ Karts" Derby race to be held in conjunction with the 28th annual Jefferson Township Day celebration at 10 a.m. on July 12 on the driveway slope in front of Jefferson Township High School.

Assembly time will be 9 a.m. and the race will rely on gravity to move.

Children ages 5 to 13 years old are eligible to participate by entering their 2013 kart, purchasing an easy-to-assemble kart kit from the committee for $45, or construct their own karts according to Cub Scout Push Car guidelines. There is a $7.50 entry fee to participate, and participants must wear their own helmet and will receive an event tee-shirt.

Each participant will receive a medal and category trophies will be awarded in a ceremony on the main stage on the Jefferson Township High School field at 1:30 pm.

Registration forms and the Cub Scout Push Car general building guidelines are available at www.jeffersonarts.org under Registration Forms; and flyers/registration forms can be found in the display racks of the Jefferson Township Municipal Building, the Public Library, and Camp Jefferson. Registrations and entry fees must be received by July 1.
