The Jefferson Arts Committee will travel to the Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson, New York, on Saturday, Oct. 8 to see the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze.
This is the tri-state’s biggest, most electrifying event featuring more pumpkin power than ever before. Meander through an historic, 18th-century riverside landscape and discover a breathtaking display – all made of jack o’ lanterns!
In this elaborate, hugely popular walk-through experience, there will be more than 7,000 illuminated jack o’ lanterns. Wander along Main Street, Pumpkin Promenade, and stroll across the new Pumpkin Zee Bridge. Gaze in wonder at swimming aquatic creatures and gasp at the sight of a giant Sea Serpent surfacing next to the Croton River. Get mesmerized by a color-changing star show in the plus-sized Pumpkin Planetarium.
Feel the earth shake as you approach Jurassic Park, where pint size dinosaurs mingle with an enormous T-Rex, brontosaurus, triceratops, and flying pterodactyl. Watch the Circus Train roll into town with colorful clowns and awesome animals.
Gourd-filled Jack-in-the-boxes spring to life while a giant spider web spins a great #pumpkinblaze photo op. Slithering snakes, a working doomsday grandfather clock, elaborate Celtic Knot carvings, creepy cool cats, and comical, squashing-eating Venus pumpkin traps are just some of the pumpkin treasures you’ll find.
So come gawk at more jack o’lanterns than ever before. Complete with sound effects, elaborate synchronized lighting and an original soundtrack, this not-to-be missed spectacle is the area’s most innovative Halloween happening and is recommended for all age groups.
Tickets will be $43 each for the 7:30 p.m. show and, besides admission, will also include the motor coach bus and driver gratuity. The group will leave the PNC Bank Parking Lot (please park along the tree line) located at 5708 Berkshire Valley Road, in Milton/Oak Ridge. The bus will depart at 5:30 p.m. sharp. This trip will go on rain or shine.
Feel free to bring something for dinner and/or snacks to eat on the bus if you choose not to eat before we leave.
Send your name, address, home phone number, cell phone number and email address, the number of tickets you are requesting at $43 apiece along with your check or money order made out to the Jefferson Arts Committee Inc. and mail it to Jefferson Arts Committee Blaze Bus Trip, PO Box 2604, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438.
