High Point teacher honored by state

    WANTAGE — High Point Regional High School Principal, Jonathan Tallamy was informed by the New Jersey Dept. of Education that Spanish teacher Marc Russell, was chosen as a 2017 New Jersey Exemplary Secondary Educator.
    The goal of the Exemplary Educator program is to identify educators who demonstrate strong knowledge and skills, a clear vision for quality teaching and learning, as well as an inspiring presence. Educators who receive this wards have demonstrated exceptional teaching and leadership abilities. Furthermore, Mr. Russell has had a positive impact on students, colleagues, and the school community.
    Marc Russell has been a faculty member at High Point Regional High School since October 2006. He is a graduate of High Point Regional High School and holds bachelor’s degrees in Education and Spanish from Kutztown University, and a Master’s Degree from Middlebury College.
    As a member of the High Point faculty, Mr. Russell has served as a volunteer wrestling coach, Mock Trial Advisor, and currently serves as the lacrosse head coach.
    Russell was nominated by High Point administrators.
