VERNON — There was a lot to do for area children at Heaven Hill Farm on Route 94 last weekend.
Retired Vernon Township Police Department Lt. Gary Gardner arranged for Santa Claus to spend the last two weekends at the farm and Vernon author Leesa Beckmann brought Oliver the Goose to the farm for two days.
This weekend will be the last chance for the kids to enjoy Vernon’s long-awaited free passenger rail service, which will run both Saturday and Sunday from noon until 4 p.m. with the train leaving the station on the half hour. The train’s conductor is Wantage resident Turner Striffler.
